The Environmental Services Specialist is responsible for providing overall leadership, support, and guidance to the Environmental Services staff within all of our communities. The Environmental Specialist maintains and enforces the Environmental operations in the absence of the Environmental Services Director within a specific community. While working in the community, the Specialist ensures basic systems and standards are being initiated, facilities operations are organized, clean, fully functioning, and staff members understand the expectations of their job duties. The Specialist will also be required to assist and/or lead the onboarding plan for the new Environmental Services Directors. If assuming a vacant role, their primary reporting line should be to the Executive Director, followed by the regional manager.
- Oversee and manage the environmental services for the community you support and handle repairs and maintenance in the absence of the Environmental Services Director.
- Partner with the Executive Director to assess environmental programs, train staff on environmental protocols, ensure adherence to environmental procedures and practices, develop repair and maintenance plans, and guarantee that communities meet all required cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Monitor the implementation of current Environmental Services policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate and external regulatory guidelines. Review new regulatory directives and make necessary updates.
- Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, development, and evaluation of assigned staff.
- Complete all necessary reports and logs, conduct regular Environmental Services evaluations with follow-up actions.
- Review and manage relationships with external vendors as needed.
- Implement and oversee Environmental Services strategies that contribute to the organization's profitability.
- Ensure proper ordering processes are followed for supply orders.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage the community’s supply and labor budget.
- Motivate, inspire, train, and coach the community team to align with the brand’s Environmental Services vision and surpass performance targets.
- Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations.
- Keep documentation in line with federal, state, and center guidelines.
- Foster a positive culture by enhancing the human spirit and ensuring community teams understand the business, mission, and core values.
- Manage the Environmental Services budget, including repairs, maintenance, supplies, and labor costs as established by the center.
- Evaluate and oversee all aspects of TELS, addressing any tasks, preventative maintenance, or compliance issues.
- Extensive travel is required (up to 100%).
- Handle procurement, inventory, rotation, and monitoring of all goods and supplies necessary for Environmental Services within the community.
- Conduct regular inspections of Environmental Services to ensure overall cleanliness and repairs, effective coordination with resident care services, quality and appearance of the physical plant, staff morale, and proactive addressing of residents’ Environmental Service’s needs.

- Practice universal precautions at all times.
- Five (5) or more years Environmental Services experience.
- Will be required to travel up to 100% of the time on behalf of the Company.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle).
- Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Company motor vehicle policy standards and Travel Policy.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Completion of secondary education or otherwise showing the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as directed by the Director of Facilities & Capital Management.
- Must be able to perform basic computer operations.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA guidelines.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
