Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on both commercial and residential settings.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
Buff floors and conduct floor care activities to ensure surfaces are well-maintained.
Carry out custodial duties such as emptying trash bins, cleaning restrooms, and replenishing supplies.
Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring all areas are functional and presentable.
Conduct industrial cleaning activities in compliance with safety standards.
Maintain outdoor areas by performing porter duties, including litter removal and general upkeep.
Support residential painting projects as required, contributing to the overall aesthetic of the facilities.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is a plus.
Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work responsibilities.
Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds when necessary.
