Position Title Kitchen Manager Required Application Type School Related Personnel Job Description
This is a full-time position in the Elementary School.
Job Goals
To efficiently and economically prepare nutritious meals for a school lunch room. To have complete charge of all food service activities in the School District with meals daily to children and adults.
Responsibilities
- Prepares food and supervises all food services of a school building kitchen.
- Maintains requisitions, storage, and care of foods and supplies.
- Is responsible for cleaning of kitchen, serving, storage, dining areas, and the care of equipment.
- Keeps records on food and supplies received and used, governmentally aided food program reports, and employee time records.
- Gets along well with children and adults.
- Carries out oral and written directions and menus from school lunch manager.
- Insures that kitchen area and preparation of food meets all standards of county and state regulatory agencies.
- Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education.
- Attends appropriate professional development activities as requested by the Business Manager.

Qualifications
- Personal cleanliness and healthful work habits; trustworthy and responsible.
- Equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.
- Thorough knowledge of approved methods of preparing food in large quantities.
- Thorough knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food preservation methods and materials.
- Working knowledge of nutritional values of foods.
