Summary
Position Highlights:
Under the direction of an Environmental Services Supervisor, the Floor Maintenance Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all floor types (carpet, tile, VCT, laminate, etc.), which involves dust mopping, auto scrubbing, burnishing and buffing. This position performs a variety of duties that support the department in maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities
Hard surface floor maintenance: dust / damp mopping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, etc.
Carpet maintenance: vacuuming, bonneting, extracting
Operating machines: auto-scrubbers, battery-powered burnishers, corded buffers, side by side scrubbers, extractors, wet vacuums
High touch surface disinfection and cleaning
Proper l y clean and d i s i nfect all types of areas i nclud i ng cl i n i cal i npat i ent/outpat i e n t (pat i ent room s , exam room s ,
nurse stati ons, etc.), support/common areas , offices, labs, conference rooms , elevators , stai rwells , corri dors , external grounds , etc.
Handle and d i spose of med i cal waste and sharp, observ i ng all requ i red precaut i on s , i nclud i ng properly ty i ng and l abel i ng bags
Use proper chemicals , tool s , and equipment for each si tuation
C l ean spills conta i n i ng b l ood or other potent i ally i nfect i ous mater i al us i n g estab l i shed i nfect i on contro l , safety, and ES departmental procedures.
Occasionally, you may have to travel to off-s i te locations.

Follow departmental and other regulatory standards regarding all cleaning polici es and procedures (using proper d isinfectants, labeling chemi cal bottles, keeping an organized cart, etc.)

Credentials And Qualifications
- High school Diploma or Equivalent required
- 6 months experience in the following: healthcare, environmental services, customer service, or hospitality
- 6 months floor tech experience
- Please note, an additional 6 months of healthcare/hospitality/customer service experience may be considered on top of the 6 months' experience required for a total of 12 months that may be considered in lieu of an HS Diploma or GED.
OR completion of a healthcare environmental services training, MacDonald Training Center, may also be considered in lieu of both the six(6) months of experience and. HS diploma/GED.
- The ability to follow oral/written instructions and communicate effectively (speaking and reading) in English.
