Job Description:
The primary function of this position is to assist the elderly and/or disabled clients with household duties, homemaking, and/or personal care such as bathing, dressing, feeding, etc. Reports to the In-Home Services Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs shopping duties for clients and picks up grocery items, medications, runs errands, etc.

Performs housekeeping duties (cleaning, changing sheets, laundry) and minor home repairs.

Prepares meals as needed.

Provides personal hygiene care for the client such as bathing, toileting, mouth and teeth care, etc.

Pays any necessary bills for client.

Keeps records and completes paperwork in the performance of daily duties.

Travels in performance of daily duties.

Provides emotional companionship to the client.

Submits all paperwork to supervisor in a timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.

Performs other related job duties as assigned.

In the event of special, emergency, or disaster situations, employee may be required to work schedules other than those for which they are regularly scheduled in any capacity deemed appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED. 1-year minimum of prior related work experience.
Special Qualifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide Certificate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to have guidelines for work but determine the approach for doing the work.

Ability to perform technical or trades-based work that requires a solid understanding of basic algebra and statistics OR use of heavy equipment. Some of the tasks performed include participating in data collection and detailed analysis; reporting on the accomplishment of specific departmental goals and tasks; OR operating or repairing heavy equipment (bulldozers, cranes, graders).

Ability to work in a responsive environment where co-workers or citizens bring problems for resolution.

Ability to determine problems and create individual solutions for issues.

Ability to work primarily alone.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
