NAEP is looking for dynamic, flexible, and friendly Head school custodians to join our growing team!
Duties/Responsibilities
Collaborates with the school principal and leadership team to establish maintenance plan and school activities where support is needed.
Attend leadership meetings with the Director of facilities to ensure compliance of safety and cleanliness are adhered to.
Participate in all school activities, while providing structure on set up and take down.
Lead the School custodial team to ensure cleanliness, safety and completion of maintenance task.
Maintains appearance of school premises, including school lobbies, hallways, lunchroom and bathrooms.
Cleans all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs, etc.)
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects
Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, painting, etc.
Empties trash receptacles for proper disposal; use of compactor for certain materials
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate cleaners and equipment
Spot clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing
Replenishes paper products and sanitary supplies.
Follows schedule outlined by the immediate supervisor.
Use of heavy cleaning equipment, such as, floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums and buffers.
Other duties may be assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.
Small repairs and handyman fixes around the building
Requirements:
Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role, preferably in a school setting.
· Familiarity with building mechanical systems is a plus.
· Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
· Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
· Background check required.
· Bilingual is a plus
· Flexible team player, cooperative and ‘can do’ attitude
