Description:
The Housekeeping Team Member maintains building by providing custodial and housekeeping services within the established procedures and policies of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with preparation and service of coffee and refreshments for assigned functions; follows up with cleaning.
- Check outside buildings for litter and pick up as appropriate.
- Cleans and resupplies restrooms.
- Cleans assigned buildings by dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming. Develops cleaning schedule to assure area is maintained in an orderly manner.
- Cleans hallways, washrooms, lavatories, rooms, drinking fountains, offices, dining room, entrances, etc., daily.
- Continually monitors timeliness to achieve timely completion of all jobs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Is aware of, reports, and removes possible safety hazards.
- Maintains “customer” confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains building interiors by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures, washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork.
- Maintains floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, and cleaning carpeting.
- Performs general cleaning and disinfecting using approved solvents and appropriate tools.
- Performs light maintenance as directed.
- Performs scheduled monthly, semiannual, or annual janitorial duties, i.e., floor waxing, interior window washing, carpet cleaning, etc., as directed by Manager.
- Performs seasonal work surrounding special meetings and events.
- Provides set-up and cleaning for different functions as assigned.
- Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials.
- Services and/or reports mechanical malfunctions.
- Performs other duties as requested and needed.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess necessary janitorial skills, the ability to perform outlined task with minimum supervision, be self-motivated and have some general knowledge of janitorial supplies and their applications. Have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Must successfully pass Diocesan background screening and Safe Environment Training.
Communication/Interpersonal Abilities:
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to communicate in English in both oral and written form. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrates sensitivity, and respect a diverse population.
- Ability to properly schedule, prioritizes, and completes tasks within allocated time.
- Requires knowledge of the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials, safe handling techniques, and use of proper safety equipment as outlined by OSHA.
REASONING ABILITY
Individual must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Requirements/Working conditions:

- They are as follows: Balancing, carrying, climbing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, crawling, stooping, bending, and walking.
- The employee is required to lift up to 25 pounds and climb stairs, step-stools or ladders.
- This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed.
