Purpose
Under the direction of the Grow Manager, the Tissue Culture Technician will be responsible for completing tissue culture tasks within the Tissue Culture Lab. These tasks involve basic laboratory processes and meeting productivity quotas. The Tissue Culture Technician is expected to perform these tasks efficiently, while not sacrificing quality or cleanliness.
Pay for this role starts at $20-$22/hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow direction from leadership to complete daily tasks, including but not limited to those listed below
- Apply a sterile technique to propagate tissue culture material using tweezers and a scalpel
- Use tweezers and a scalpel to root tissue culture material
- Log all tissue culture work and data as required
- Prepare tissue culture media and other necessary supplies
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning responsibilities
- Work efficiently
- Maintain a culture of professionalism
- Help in the garden when needed
Other Duties:
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to assisting with other R&D projects or in other departments to help with labor needs, such as farm work, harvesting, trimming, packaging, and cleaning as needed throughout the facility.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Must currently have a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division Badge.
- Comply with all company policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
Supervision:
- Works under the direct supervision of the Grow Manager.
- This position is not responsible for the supervision of other employees but may be asked to train or assist other employees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Trimming and/or production experience is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of sterile technique is a plus, but not required.
- Laboratory experience is a plus, but not required.
- Deadline-oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Focussed and efficient.
- Flexible and adaptable.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions
- Able to use hand tools and computers for extended periods.
- Able to sit for extended periods.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to move about a typical office, laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment, including the use of stairs.
- Able to perform general office activities.
- Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- Hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week.
- Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle, and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
