Purpose of the Position:
The Custom Cabinetry Builder is responsible for crafting bespoke, high-end cabinetry and woodworking projects. This role requires exceptional skill and precision to deliver products that match intricate designs and client specifications, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence.
By ensuring the precise construction and assembly of custom cabinetry, the Custom Cabinetry Builder plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our production line, directly impacting the quality and delivery of our final products.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction and Assembly:
- Construct and assemble custom cabinetry from start to finish, ensuring all pieces align with design plans and quality standards.
- Use a wide range of woodworking tools and machinery proficiently to achieve desired results.
Project Management:
- Oversee projects from start to finish, including planning, execution, and quality control.
- Coordinate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Design Interpretation:
- Read and interpret complex architectural drawings and plans.
- Apply intricate designs and customer requirements accurately to produce high-quality products.
Quality Control:
- Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure the durability and finish of the cabinetry meet high-end expectations.
- Address any defects or issues promptly to maintain high standards.
Training and Mentorship:
- Train and mentor Builder Helpers (apprentices), providing guidance on woodworking techniques, tool usage, and project execution.
- Evaluate the progress of apprentices, offering constructive feedback and additional training as needed.
- Receive feedback and constructive criticism from the Lead Builder and others, understanding it is aimed at continuous improvement and professional growth.
Safety and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and cleaning protocols.
- Report any safety hazards to the workshop manager immediately.
Learning and Development:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and techniques, continually refining skills and craft skills.
- Participate in training sessions and demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and processes.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of experience in high-end cabinetry or custom woodworking.
- Experience running their own shop or handling end-to-end project management.
- A portfolio demonstrating expertise and complexity of projects handled.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in using a wide range of woodworking tools and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret complex designs and follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

- Proactive attitude and eagerness to assist team members.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Reporting:
This position reports to the VP of Operations.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, lifting, and moving of materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in a workshop setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
