The Cleaning Technician will be responsible, under the direction of the Property Manager, for a variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned facilities to maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the complex including all areas related to the day-to-day function of the community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing laws, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 8 and all other laws pertaining to multifamily housing.
Essential duties can include, but are not limited to:
1) Perform necessary janitorial tasks in all areas of assigned facilities, including, but not limited to, individual apartments, hallways, common areas, offices, storage and trash rooms, equipment rooms, stairways, elevators, kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms, showers, alleys, sidewalks, roofs, and decks or patios.
2) Monitor facilities and provide upkeep as needed.
3) Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing assignments by following a regular cleaning schedule.
4) Complete other cleaning duties, including unit turnovers, as assigned.
5) Communicate extensive cleaning needs to supervisor before starting work, seeking assistance to complete, if required.
6) Do not enter occupied units without prior approval from supervisor.
7) Participate in staff meetings and trainings, as assigned.
8) Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
The Cleaning Technician must maintain a professional and courteous approach with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees. Additionally, the Cleaning Technician must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional need (10% to 15% of the time) to utilize personal transportation to service other properties.
- Must have current, valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee must check in with property manager at the start and end of each shift. Work hours should coincide with property office hours.
- Employees must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies, rules and procedures of the company, including those set out in the IMI Employee Handbook, or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to employees.
