Job Summary: The Custodian performs routine manual work in housekeeping and cleaning of interior spaces and immediate exterior areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, polishes and dusts furniture, and cleans restrooms, windows, blinds, mirrors, etc. in buildings across campus.
Additional Department Summary: The Custodian performs routine manual work in housekeeping and cleaning of interior spaces and immediate exterior areas. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, dusting furniture, and cleaning restrooms, windows, blinds, mirrors in academic, administrative and athletic buildings as well as on campus living spaces.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to climb stairs and ladders; must be able to reach and lift arms above head; must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Must have the ability to use job-related tools, equipment, and chemical supplies. Closely observes and adheres to all safety rules and regulations as listed on product and equipment labels and as directed by management; Leaves work site clean and orderly; Insures that all tools and equipment are cleaned and materials are secured.
Must meet regular attendance requirements; Must work overtime as scheduled; Must accomplish the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely manner; Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Valid U.S. driver’s license.
