Technician
Restoration Skills & Qualifications:
· IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) suggested
· IICRC certification for Applied Structural Drying (ASD) suggested
· IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset
· 2+ years industry related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferred
· Familiarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets
· Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles, and practices
· Must have valid Driver's license and good driving record
· Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Basic computer and/or Tablet / iPad experience
· Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
· Periodic travel may be required
· Criminal Record Check
Carpet Cleaning Skills & Qualifications:
· IICRC Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) Certification suggested
· High school diploma or GED
· Previous work experience as a carpet cleaning technician preferred
· Detailed knowledge of cleaning chemicals and machines
· Friendly and professional demeanor
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to operate industrial cleaning machines
· Ability to lift and move heavy furniture
· Must have valid Driver's license and good driving record
Restoration Responsibilities:
· Work on job sites providing the following services:
o Water pumping and extraction
o Mold remediation
o Moving & re-setting contents
o Selective demolition as required to accommodate the drying process
o Debris disposal
o Setting drying equipment
o Carpet cleaning
o Capable of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity, and MC moisture content readings
o Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) whenever required
· Participate as directed in the following activities:
o Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
o Ensure vehicle is cleaned, emptied, and restocked at end of shift
o Constructing polyethylene enclosures
o Maintaining equipment
· Will always practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite.
· Provide excellent customer service.
· Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
· Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information.
· Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices;
· follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.
· Comply with all policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements.
· Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person.
· This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager.
· Attend all sponsored training courses.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Carpet Cleaning Responsibilities:
· Meeting with clients to discuss their cleaning needs.
· Assessing the state of the floors and carpets that need to be cleaned.
· Applying stain and pre-cleaning treatments to the carpets and floors.
· Carefully removing furniture to access all areas that need to be cleaned.
· Cleaning carpets and floors using machine and hand-washing techniques.
· Drying carpets using drying machines.
· Resetting of furniture.
· Up-selling cleaning services and company products.
· Providing invoices and maintaining good customer relations.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
· Trash removal services
· Carpet stretching and installation
· Crossover janitorial services
· Window Cleaning services
Physical Demands:
· Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs., unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
· Occasional lifting from 41 lbs. +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
· Access and mobility in tight spaces
· Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
· Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
