Job Summary:
The Night Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of all public areas, back-of-house areas, and other assigned spaces during the night shift. The role is essential to maintaining the resort's high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction, ensuring all areas are spotless for the start of each day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and recreational areas.
- Ensure that floors are mopped, vacuumed, and polished as required.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners in public and staff areas.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces like door handles, railings, and elevator buttons.
- Clean guest rooms if necessary and help with guest requests
- Maintain cleanliness of staff areas, including locker rooms, break rooms, and service corridors.
- Ensure that storage and equipment rooms are organized and clutter-free.
- Perform scheduled deep cleaning of carpets, curtains, upholstery, and furniture.
- Polish metal and wood surfaces as needed.
- Conduct window and glass cleaning in public and back-of-house areas.
- Report any damage, broken fixtures, or safety hazards to the maintenance team or supervisor immediately.
- Monitor the condition of cleaning equipment and request repairs or replacements as needed.
- Laundry and Linen Support:
- Collect and deliver linens to the laundry area when required.
- Assist with sorting, folding, and distribution of clean linens.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Standards:
- Follow proper cleaning procedures using the correct chemicals and equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure that cleaning tasks do not disrupt guests or create hazards, such as wet floors without proper signage.
- Respond to guest requests in a prompt and courteous manner when interacting with them during the shift.
- Maintain a professional and discreet demeanor at all times.
- Coordinate with the night shift team and supervisors to ensure all areas are covered and tasks are completed efficiently.
- Assist with any additional duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Competencies:
- Attention to Detail: Ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned and meet the high standards of the resort.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently and complete assigned tasks before the end of the shift.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the night team and other departments.
- Guest-Oriented: Maintain a professional, friendly attitude when interacting with guests, even during night hours.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning services, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in cleaning operations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to understand guest needs.
Working Conditions:
- This position involves working late-night and early-morning shifts, often when the resort is quiet or preparing for the next day.
- The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- The Night Cleaner may interact with guests but primarily works in back-of-house and public spaces.
