The custodian maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are safe and presentable.
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform facility maintenance and coordinate with outside vendors on outsourced projects
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, breakrooms and common areas.
- Cleans, mops, washes, buffs and vacuums floors.
- Empties trash
- Maintains outside walk areas and building perimeter, including sweeping/picking up debris, washing walkways, and watering landscapes.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of outside recycle/ garbage containers
- Cleans and polishes fixtures.
- Removes recycling materials.
- Cleans windows.
- Dusts and vacuums carpets and furniture.
- Assists in maintaining supplies for warehouse.
- Inventory supply stock and assist in ordering as needed.
- Perform safety checks and participates in quarterly safety meetings to achieve OSHA compliance
- Maintain watering schedule for trees and shrubs
- Achieve designated individual and/or group quotas.
- Other responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to, working in alternative departments as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test
- Reading and comprehending policies and procedures
- Some professional work experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role a plus
- Working knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances and how to maintain them
- Understanding of safety protocols such as disposal of chemicals and other hazardous items
- Comfortable with basic landscaping and maintenance tasks
- Detail-oriented and conscientiousness

- Regularly communicates with management and staff
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing up to 8 hours per day.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

- The use of Personal Protective Equipment is required per the Safety Manual.
