Job description:
A Datacenter Cleaning Technician works within the cleaning division to perform preventive and general cleaning in Datacenter environments. Technicians are trained to work on several fronts. Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining all types of data center surfaces – including equipment, cable ducts, ceilings, walls, floors, subfloors, dependent on Client Scope of Work expectations. Technicians are experienced in using proper cleaning methods, chemicals and equipment to properly care for all sensitive surfaces in our customers' data center.
Primary duties within varied scope of work and client expectations
- Annual or Quarterly Data Hall subfloor/surface/crevice cleaning using approved equipment, attachments, and methodologies
- Scrub floor tile surfaces to client expectations
- Damp mop floor to client expectations
- Wall and horizontal surface wipe down to client expectations using approved equipment, attachments, and methodologies
- Clean surfaces up to 12 feet, including conduits and other fixtures
- Clean overhead cable trays using approved equipment, attachments, and methodologies
- Wipe down exteriors of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Spot clean equipment and fixtures
- Cosmetic cleaning tasks per client SOW
- Particulate testing
- Trash and recyclable disposal
- General janitorial functions that might include: spill cleanup, common area cleaning and sanitization, office area dusting, or floor seal/wax
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform general custodial/cleaning practices and methodologies
- Safe usage of hand tools and small power tools
- Ability to use mobile application technology
- Neat and orderly work habits
- Valid driver's license
- Basic knowledge of custodial and cleaning practices
Preferred Qualification:

- PPE

- Arc Flash Awareness
- Power Lift Vehicle/Scissor Lift Vehicle Awareness

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, often up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing tasks in various work environments
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas efficiently
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel for equipment-related tasks
- Possess good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Possess ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Possess ability to move quickly and efficiently within various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies
- Possess ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Possess ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Possess capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
