The Estimator/Operations Assistant will be responsible for managing the restoration division. As an Estimator/Operations Manager, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and drawings to accurately estimate the materials, labor, and timeline required for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional estimating services for fire, water, mold and cleaning jobs.
- Monitor projects on a daily basis
- First on-site, conducts site visit an educate the customer on the job process
- Communicate with restoration team and office team on a daily basis
- Documents and reports all findings based on industry standards or personal experiences
- Provides details, line-item scope and estimate for items within the project that are uncertain and need further investigation.
- Identifies general project requirements and /or constraints to bring the structure and contents back to pre-loss conditions.
- Divides project into sections to make the scope more manageable.
- Documents all dimensions, diagrams, and images of each room or section.
- Identifies and documents all tasks that must be performed in each room or section
- Identifies and documents any exclusions; what will not be part of your scope of work.
- Discusses scope of work with the customer.
- Reviews project requirements (National Account bulletins, insurance company requirements, local agreements) that may be applicable to specific jobs.
- Creates the project estimate using agreed upon estimating platform.
- Sends out bid requests for specific subcontracted work as needed.
- Complies and submits project proposal packet.
- Will learn how to use DocuSketch, SERVPRO Drybook Software and Time & Material Estimating Software
- Effectively communicates with all members of the restoration staff and delegates the appropriate duties for each team member
- Develop and implement processes to improve performance
- Develop employees for opportunities of greater responsibility, improves the abilities, skills and knowledge of production personnel through appropriate instruction and training.
- Works with support personnel to ensure that all aspects of the job are met to prevent any delays in the job process
- Ensures strict compliance with all safety procedures and implements safe working procedures in assigned restoration areas
- Will be on call to assist on afterhours losses
- Will assist on t he administrative aspect of losses ( documentation, monitoring, equipment, tracking, etc.)
- Learn how to write Emergency Ready Profiles (ERP) fro commercial clients.
Position Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least one year of restoration industry experience preferred
- IICRC certifications preferred
- Experience in building a strong team with tangible leadership skills
- Strong process and results driven attitude
- Ability to multitask and to remain detail orientated
- Detail oriented with an emphasis on project management, building codes, and documentation of all areas of project management
- Must be knowledgeable in relevant computer applications
- · Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration or relevant field preferred
· Minimum five (5) years’ experience required in claims management and/or estimating.
· Xactimate® and SERVPRO Time and Materials (T&M) proficiency, a plus.
· Experience in estimating large, complex commercial projects.
· Ability to travel extensively by automobile and/or airplane, must have valid driver’s license.
· Intermediate problem-solving skills including proper scope of work, general constraints to bring the structure and contents.
- Detail oriented with an emphasis on project management, building codes, and documentation of all areas of project management
Skills/Physical Demands/Competencies
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
- Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects
- Ability to work with/around cleaning agents
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time position working hours varying between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week minimum, with some weekend and/or holiday work required. Travel may be required. On call hours required.
Summary
The Estimator/Operations Assitant provides direct support to help franchises grow and improve their estimate practices on Commercial Large Loss project. This includes evaluating the franchise’s current processes for estimating and documentation to assist in managing a large complex commercial project.
