POSITION: Housekeeper II
SALARY: $20.00-$23.58/hour DOE
REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager
LOCATION: San Poil Treatment Center, Keller, WA
Basic Functions: This position is a Non-Exempt position.Performs various housekeeping, cleaning and laundry duties in accordance with current federal, state, local standards and guidelines, and regulations in strict accordance with SPTC policy to maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.The Housekeeper II is secondary level in a career path for the SPTC. In absence of the co-workers may be assigned additional duties.
Education and Training:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 6-12 months of related experience.
- Requires a valid drivers license and to be eligible for Tribal Vehicle Insurance and maintain clearance throughout employment.
- Must possess or obtain First Aid and CPR Training, must complete the training within 90 days of employment. Housekeeping staff will also receive on-the-job training to include, but not limited to:
- HIV/AIDS, HIPAA, 45 CFR, and blood borne pathogen (within 90 days of hire)
- Health and Safety Training
- OSHA safe handling and mitigation training for biohazards
- COVID-19 and other disease prevention cleaning techniques
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires a working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies used in custodial care.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of the buildings and grounds of the assigned site.
- Requires working knowledge of safe work habits and safety procedures.
- Requires sufficient reading and writing ability to read work instructions and document work activity onto standardized forms.
- Requires sufficient human relations skill to exercise courtesy when dealing with others.
- Requires knowledge and experience with securing building during non-business hours (preferred).
- Requires a high degree of organizational skill regarding independently managing workload and related responsibilities.
- Requires knowledge of and commitment to adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries and an understanding of HIPAA and other federal confidentiality laws.
- Requires communications skills (both oral and written) and a commitment to clear documentation.
- Requires the ability to perform all of the essential duties of the position with limited supervision.
- Requires the ability to operate custodial equipment such as, but not limited to floor scrubber, steam vapor machine and carpet extractor, and maintain tools and equipment in a working condition.
- Requires the ability to learn, understand and apply Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Requires the ability to perform routine Housekeeping tasks and to be able to determine when to refer more complex maintenance requirements.
- Requires the ability to observe facilities, grounds, pedestrian and vehicle movement for safety and security concerns.
- Requires the ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Requires the ability to work alone and independently in performance of job duties.
- Requires the ability to establish and maintain congenial working relationships with other Tribal programs, outside business representatives and the public.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively and to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
- Requires the ability to maintain discretion and strict confidentiality with work-related information at all times.
- Requires the ability to attend training with the ultimate goal of developing skills to move up the custodian career ladder.
- Requires the ability to function effectively indoors and outdoors engaged in work of a demanding nature.
- Requires the ability to maintain fitness to engage in strenuous physical labor.
- Requires near visual acuity to write, to read directions and product labels, and to observe work in progress.
- Requires sufficient hearing and speech for ordinary, telephonic, and 2-way radio communication, to hear sound prompts from equipment, and to determine if equipment is functioning properly.
- Requires manual and finger dexterity to write and to clean and make minor repairs.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry (from overhead, waist and floor levels, max. 50 lbs.), push and pull up to 75 pounds, bend, squat, reach (from low, level, and overhead), and twist and tum head and trunk to clean and to remove trash, move furniture and equipment.
- Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Requires the ability to work with various cleaning chemicals without medical restrictions.
- Requires the ability to work flexible hours when needed, including weekends.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain avalid Washington State drivers license and be eligible for the Tribes Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
