SUMMARY Cleans all areas of the Hospital by performing the following established policies and procedures in order to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the Hospital and in compliance with State Health Department regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
Follows all infection control practices including hand washing, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
Utilizes all safety and personal protective equipment.
Utilizes the appropriate chemical and follows the manufacturers label and MSDS instructions.
All work assignments meet set quality standards.
All work assignments are completed on time.
Works on his/her own with normal supervision
Follows supervisors instructions and provides feedback in the appropriate setting
Reports any unsafe conditions, safety hazards or unusual occurrences to their supervisor.
Supervisors, co-workers, hospital staff, patients, residents and visitors are treated with dignity and respect.
Uses and maintains hospital equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions. Ensures equipment is in good working order and safe to use.
Completes all health stream education requirements on time and passes course exams.
Attends all mandatory meetings and programs
Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education or general equivalency diploma (GED)
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, families and other employees or the organization.
SKILLS
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to read and understand equipment operation manual.
