Job description
Summary:
The Sharpening Room Attendant reports to the Shift Supervisor.
Main Responsibilities:
- Follow safety and work procedures.
- Reading and understanding different machine design plans to build saw packages for saw line.
- Using different measuring devices to make sure different parts are within spec tolerance (Tape Measure, Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Indicator).
- Changing sawblades, chipper, debarker, profiler knives, in tight locations.
- Cleaning and organizing of different parts (sawblades, chipper/profiler segments, spacers).
- Using a variety of different sharpening machines. (Similar to AutoCAD/CNC)
- Clean industrial equipment and work stations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Must be dependable and show ability to take direction
- Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures, in loud, high volume environment.
- Perform essential functions of job that includes walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work with computer software, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and control panels to work in sharpening room safely and effectively.
- Must be extremely detail oriented and able to perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to use hand tools (impacts, drills, torque wrenches, etc…)
