Broad Function
The Kitchen Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining our kitchen's hygiene and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Additionally, the Dishwasher supports the kitchen staff by assisting with basic food preparation tasks. This role requires a diligent, efficient individual who is committed to upholding our high standards of cleanliness and safety, ensuring a clean dining environment for our community.
Essential Functions
- Dishwashing and Equipment Maintenance: Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Ensure all items are cleaned and maintained according to health and safety standards.
- Kitchen Support: Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables and portioning ingredients. Help maintain a smooth flow of operations in the kitchen.
- Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and dishwashing areas. Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures to create a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Equipment and Facility Care: Report any maintenance or repair needs for kitchen equipment or facilities to management promptly. Ensure that all equipment functions properly and safely.
- Organization: Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment. Store them in designated areas to facilitate easy access and efficient kitchen operations.
Other Essential Functions
- Cooperate with the Hospitality Director to provide a positive and inviting dining experience for guests.
Attend departmental meetings as scheduled for input and informational purposes to fulfill the mission of Indian Rocks.
- Participate in the overall church mission by supporting other ministries with a positive attitude.
- Manage situations, including ministry or interpersonal conflict seeking Biblical resolution.
- Guard the confidentiality appropriate to the exchange of trust involved in a Christian ministry.
- Be self-motivated, cooperative, innovative, courteous, conscientious and flexible. Able to lead and act independently consistent with the mission, policies, procedures, committee and pastoral leadership.
- Be faithful in personal attendance for worship, spiritual growth opportunities, and family leadership.
- Demonstrate personal appearance that is consistent with the policies and understanding of a Christian role model as defined by Indian Rocks policies and Christian qualifications.
- Perform other responsibilities as directed by immediate supervisor, or other church supervising staff.

- Prior to the end of the scheduled shift consult with Hospitality Director in regards to any other pending Food Service Task.

This role routinely necessitates activities such as standing, walking, and utilizing hands for various tasks like grasping or manipulating objects. Employees are expected to regularly handle weights up to 10 pounds, frequently manage up to 25 pounds, and on occasion, move items as heavy as 50 pounds.

In this role, employees frequently encounter moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in this setting is usually high.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Preferred experience working in a commercial kitchen, deli, or restaurant environment, including experience with inventory and ordering product and working on a team.
- Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
- Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; operating equipment found in a commercial kitchen; quantity cooking and recordkeeping.
- Knowledge is required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: safety practices and procedures; quantity food preparation and handling; and sanitation practices.
- Ability to learn church related systems to effectively support the ministry.
- Possess the ability to communicate personally and publicly. Able to communicate through written and verbal directions.
- Self-starter; willing to do what is necessary.
- Good with people. Customer Service is a priority. Able to resolve conflicts reasonably.
- Must desire to be a team player, understanding that we are a multi-faceted church with several very important ministries.
- Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a ministry of service.
- Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as stated in the Indian Rocks Employee Handbook.
- Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined below:

Other Responsibilities
Responsible to perform the other duties as assigned and approved by supervising personnel to include, but not limited to: Church Pastor, Church Administrator, Hospitality Director, Human Resources Manager or Personnel Committee.
