Job Description/Safety Analysis
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Janitor/Cleaner is responsible for the completion of non-processing sanitation duties meeting USDA and Saprobe quality standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Performing tasks as assigned through the daily, weekly and monthly non-processing sanitation schedule. These tasks will include general cleaning of ceilings, fans, windows, floors, offices and restrooms, Time clock, Vending machines, Doors and ALL highly touched areas. With Disinfectant.
· Disinfect bathrooms multiple times per day.
· Disinfect Breakroom after each break.
· Aiding Quality Assurance with audit preparation.
. Knowledge of when, what and where to use certain chemicals.
· Other tasks as assigned.
· Report any food safety and quality issues/problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
· To properly follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: The job of the Janitor will have been satisfactorily achieved when:
· Assigned duties are completed meeting USDA and Saprobe quality standards.
· Adequate support is provided for quality assurance audits.
· Proper procedures are followed.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to lift 35 pounds, 5 or more times daily.
- Work on feet 10 or more hours, 5-7 days per week.
- Able to work on ladders.
- Understand what cleaning supplies to utilized in area to be cleaned.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- Protective gloves, goggles/safety glasses, rubber boots, face shield, apron based on function being performed

- Chemical
- Blood borne Pathogen
- Workplace Hazards
- Bending/Lifting Procedures

- Plant Manager

- HR/Office Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
