SUMMARY
The housekeeper maintains the Rectory by providing housekeeping services within the established procedures and policies of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Maintains building interiors by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures, washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork.
- Maintains floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, and cleaning carpeting.
- Cleans and resupplies restrooms.
- Performs general cleaning and disinfecting using approved solvents and appropriate tools.
- Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transports materials to disposal area; recycles materials.
- Services and/or reports mechanical malfunctions.
- Performs seasonal work surrounding special meetings and events.
- Assists with preparation for assigned functions; follows up with cleaning.
- Reports and removes possible safety hazards.
- Cleans hallways, washrooms, lavatories, rooms, drinking fountains, offices, dining room, entrances, etc., daily.
- Performs light maintenance as directed.
- Performs scheduled monthly, semiannual, or annual janitorial duties, i.e., floor waxing, interior window washing, carpet cleaning, etc.
- Provides set-up and cleaning for different functions as assigned.
- Cleans Rectory by dusting, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming. Develops cleaning schedule to assure house is maintained in an orderly manner.
- Maintains “customer” confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Continually monitors timeliness to achieve timely completion of all jobs.
- Performs other duties as requested and needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

CATHOLIC FAITH
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School degree or equivalent. Successful work experience in meal preparation and completing a cleaning plan. Must provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities. Ability to wash windows.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Strong command of both written and spoken English language.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours of this position are 8hrs per week. This person will need to be available in the evening as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.
PHYSICAL and SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (30 pounds).
