Job Goal:
To be responsible for the cleanliness, operational efficiency, and safety of the school(s) in order that the full educational use of the school may be achieved.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs work according to standard procedures.
2. Cleans floors, doors, light fixtures and other parts of the learning areas, offices, and public areas.
3. Checks all lavatories for proper operation and cleanliness; insures lavatories are adequately supplied.
4. Checks and replaces bulbs and fuses.
5. Cleans all entrance areas. Required to shovel snow from entrance and walk areas.
6. Cleans all drinking fountains and sinks.
7. Cleans storage areas and athletic facilities.
8. Cleans and vacuums rugs, mops and waxes floors.
9. Maintains school grounds, including parking lots, entries and plantings. May be required to mow grass and provide trimming.
10. Dusts furniture and equipment.
11. Varnishes and paints designated areas.
12. Empties wastebaskets and recycling containers.
13. Provides emergency assistance.
14. Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
15. Organizes areas for meetings and other special events, including setting up and taking down chairs, tables, and risers.
16. Insures building security is maintained.
17. Provides assistance to teachers, students, the public, and other employees as designated by his/her supervisor.
18. Maintains custodial/storage areas in orderly fashion; insures compliance with appropriate regulations.
19. Supervises student custodians when designated to do so.
20. Performs minor repairs such as dripping faucets, electrical connections, door latches and locks, physical education equipment, running lavatories and vacuuming equipment.
21. Assembles new equipment such as audio visual carts, divider units and playground equipment.
22. Recognizes and reports items needing maintenance or repair beyond his/her capabilities to perform; assists in identifying safety concerns and takes appropriate action when necessary.
23. Follows all applicable safety procedures and regulations, including, but not limited to, OSHA, fire and building; participates in training as requested.
24. Performs additional duties as designated by the Principal or supervisor.
Evaluation:
Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Building Principal(s) in accordance with Board policy and as specified by contract requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.78 - $22.33 per hour
