Minimum Qualifications:
- Is able to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language; has the ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Capable of reading and following written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
- Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and up to 150 lbs on an occasional basis.
- Is able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, as well as effectively and harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Is able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Must be fully up-to-date with required vaccinations.
As a Housekeeper you can expect to:
- Is responsible for day-to-day housekeeping functions such as cleaning, polishing, sanitizing, sweeping, vacuuming, etc., of all environmental surfaces, in the common areas of the community (floor, ceiling, walls, fixtures, furniture, appliances), ensuring that established Infection Control practices and safety precautions are followed at all times.
- Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
- Reports all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions or equipment to the supervisor and keeps work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, such as protruding mop/broom handles, unnecessary equipment, etc. Assures that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day.
- Assures that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies is maintained in utility/janitorial closets to perform daily tasks and notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.
- Reports any maintenance issues, such as burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., to the Community Manager or Maintenance Staff as soon as possible.
- Performs thorough cleaning in apartments on turnovers as assigned.
- Removes trash and debris from building grounds to maintain an attractive appearance and empties trash cans as needed.
- Performs annual carpet cleaning in the main traffic areas of occupied units as assigned.
