Male Caregiver - Immediate Need
Miracle Home Care has an immediate need for a male Caregiver in the Rancho Bernardo area. The Client is in his 80s and will need a Caregiver 3 days per week for 5 hours per day usually 9 am to 2 pm or 3 pm. The client needs help around his apartment and day to day activities including help bathing. The pay is $20 per hour, which comes out to $300 per week for 5 hours per day/3 days a week. You would have to be a currently registered home care aide.

JOB DESCRIPTION -* CAREGIVER*
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Caregiver is responsible for providing non-medical home service(s) /care to individuals/seniors and others who require services/care and resources in their own homes.
SCOPE
The Caregiver provides individualized services/care and resources to seniors, disabled and others so that they may continue to live in their homes and in the community. Home Care may include transportation, house cleaning, personal hygiene, preparing meals, companionship, pet care, and other home, health and wellness related activities.
Requirements
● Ability to obtain Home Care Aide Registration (requires criminal background check clearance through California Department of Social Services)
● Ability to obtain current negative Tuberculosis test results
RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Activities:
● Provide non-medical Home Care Services to seniors, disabled individuals, and others in the community with identified needs
● Provide non-medical Home Care services including general housekeeping companionship personal care, chores, and respite care
● Transport clients to appointments and activities
● Medication reminding
● Meal preparation
● Organize time and resources based on the individual needs of clients
● Manage any unanticipated events or unstable situations
● Perform other related duties as required
● Observe and report any change in client’s condition
● Provide pet care services to pets if needed

Knowledge
The Caregiver requires knowledge of:
● Proper Home Care techniques including housekeeping, meal preparation, ambulation, personal care, infection control, health and safety regulations
● Appropriate Home Care interventions
● All relevant legislation, policies and procedures
● Services and resources in the community
● General pet care

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands
The Caregiver may be required to safely lift and move clients, and may be required to bathe and/or clean clients. The Caregiver works in the client’s home and must practice clean, safe care to eliminate the possibility of infection or cross contamination between clients, family members and/or themselves.
Environmental Conditions
The Caregiver spends a lot of time in client homes. Caregivers may be dealing with clients with potentially infectious conditions. They must be extremely careful to ensure that all tasks, treatments and activities are completed safely so as to ensure the safety of all clients, families, the community and themselves. The Caregiver may be required to drive in adverse winter conditions and make visits during periods of cold temperatures.
Sensory Demands
The Caregiver may be exposed to sights and sounds associated with clients who may be ill and/or injured. They may also find a variety of conditions and circumstances as they visit clients in their homes. The Caregiver may be exposed to unpleasant odors in providing home care.
Mental Demands
The Caregiver may be faced with stress from dealing with clients and family members who may be stressed and difficult to work with. Stress is caused by the fact that the Assistant must work independently in unfamiliar and uncontrolled situations. There may be significant emotional stress in providing care for clients who are dying and providing support for their families.
