- Report directly to the Executive Director
As Food Service Director, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the foodservice department. You will provide the leadership and guidance to ensure our community makes great food, served well that meets our resident and staff expectations (staff is served the same food as residents for free!). Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the department's budget, supervising staff, and maintaining inventory.
Food Service Director/Dietary Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement menus that meet community quality standards.
- Great appearance on the plate
- Textures and nutrition to meet the needs of the elderly, including special menus for those who must avoid extra salt, sugar or have trouble swallowing.
- Order, receive, store, and prepare food in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a well-organized inventory and conduct monthly inventories for submission to accounting.
- Ensure that food is prepared using safe and sanitary methods.
- Monitor and organize kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintenance.
- Manage the food service budget, analyze food costs and modify menus as needed to stay within budget. Maintain accurate meal counts and spending reports.
- Supervise and train staff in proper food handling, preparation, service, and sanitation procedures.
- Interact with residents and families to resolve any issues related to their dietary needs.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the Food Service department based on established standards and guidelines.
We require a minimum a Certificate, AA or BA in foodservice management or nutrition from an accredited institution or a Certificate from the CBDM Certification Program.
You must be able to pass Florida Dept of Law Enforcement (FDLE) level 2 background check

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
