JOB SUMMARY
Insurance Verification shall insure that all duties are performed and completed daily in a professional and efficient manner in an atmosphere of contented team work. It is understood that Insurance Verification shall not only complete all Insurance Verification requirements, but also perform his/her other qualified duties and also perform any other assigned duties as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Training/experience in business office activities
Two years of multi-line telephone or business office experience
Effective computer skills
Some functional knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel

Positive attitude, ability and willingness to work in a teamwork environment, ability to lead by example, level headed composure, refusal to engage in gossip and English language skills adequate for verbal and written medical and personal communications by computer and in person.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Vision and hearing sufficient for constant use of computers and use of other business office equipment and ability to sit and stand for long periods and to perform desk bound and other office and clinical activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND OBJECTIVES
Shall learn, support and follow the philosophy, goals, objectives and Mission Statement of the Company.
- Shall perform his/her other qualified duties as required by management.
- Shall perform all job duties according to Company approved policies and procedures in furtherance of the Company Mission.
- Shall lead by personal example, teamwork and suggestions to management, provide the highest level of professional scheduling of patient care in the most efficient, time and cost effective manner possible.
- Shall whenever possible, help others by directing, aiding and comforting patients via telephone, filing, processing, cleaning and organizing the facility.
- Shall become cross-trained and shall train and cross-train other employees whenever possible so as to provide upward mobility for all employees.

- Shall consider patient rights in performance of job duties and responsibilities and comply with HIPAA requirements
Shall learn, follow and support the Company chain of command.
- Shall follow instructions pursuant to Company policy from any person above them in the Company command structure.
- Shall respond truthfully and accurately to all information requests from any person above them or below them in the Company chain of command.
- Shall follow the company chain of command as required by company policy.
- Shall report any problems with maintenance, computer problems, supply problems, lease hold problems and the like to Team Leader.
Shall communicate professionally, honestly and effectively with patients, visitors, and all other co-workers.
- Shall be responsible for timely accurate communication of all company policy to all of his/her team members.
- Shall at all times maintain a positive, helpful, professional and respectful communication style with all patients and employees, no matter the status of the speaker or listener. Healthy, friendly, constructive suggestions to increase office efficiency are encouraged. Gossip and negative attitudes are not acceptable.
- Shall become personally involved in all Team or office meetings and make suggestions to provide highest quality care to Company patients and to improve office efficiency at less cost to the Company.
- If multi-lingual, shall provide translation services as necessary to provide highest quality care to patients.
Shall learn, support and follow Company safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities.
- Shall learn, support and follow Company risk management requirements and participate in Company programs directed to patient, staff and visitor safety.
- Shall report observed or suspected violations, hazards, and noncompliance according to Company policy.
- Shall respond to emergency situations pursuant to Company policy with competence and composure.
Shall organize efficient scheduling of patients.
- Shall learn and teach scheduling techniques that will tend to spread patient appointments throughout the day rather than bulk them in the early morning and late afternoon.
- Shall maintain records of patient scheduling as required by Company policy and as instructed by his/her Team Leader.
Shall be responsible for timely and appropriate scheduling of patients.
- Shall insure Company approved pre-qualification procedures are being followed.
- Shall verify general patient information (address, phone number, etc.)
- Shall verify insurance information
- Shall verify accurate date of accident
- Shall verify representation
- Shall verify at fault information
- Shall insure all medical records are requested for accidents more than 6 months old.
- Shall insure all patients needing transportation are scheduled accordingly and advise the facility of transportation measures.
- Shall insure all scheduled patient information is faxed to each facility by the close of business on a daily basis.
- Shall insure all PA / ARNP’s are notified of their schedules via email on a daily basis.
Shall determine and maintain appropriate inventory of office equipment and expendables in the office.
- Shall clear all orders through the Team Leader as instructed by the Team Leader.
- Shall notify IT via “support” email for all computer maintenance and replacement issues.
- Shall report maintenance needs to maintenance department via email.
