Position Summary: Entry level position within the Sanitation Department responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards of the manufacturing facilities.
Purpose: Provide a safe, clean, and sanitized environment for both employees and the product manufactured in the production departments.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of all areas of the manufacturing facility, including floors, walls, stairs, and restrooms.
2. Clean breakroom, walls, floors, locker rooms, and restrooms.
3. Properly dispose of trash in accordance to company guidelines.
4. Safely handle, store, and utilize cleaning chemicals, ensuring they are used in appropriate quantities and stored securely.
5. Perform regular checks and inspections to ensure environmental cleanliness standards are consistently met.
6. Adhere to all company safety standards, as well as governmental safety guidelines and protocols.
7. Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and checklists.
8. Participate in departmental training, including but not limited to online training and in-person training.
9. Communicate with Sanitation Manager regarding inventory of cleaning supplies, updating as necessary when product runs low.
10. Assist Food Safety and Cleaning Specialists in the breakdown, cleaning, sanitizing, and rebuilding of machinery as needed.
11. Work closely with Food Safety and Cleaning Specialists to cover breaks, call outs, and vacations to ensure production equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and ready for the next day’s production.
13. Maintain chemical and PPE storage areas in a clean and sanitary fashion.
14. Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
15. Follow good housekeeping and personal hygiene practices.
16. General understanding and awareness of SDS for all chemicals used.
17. Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must be personable and team oriented. They should demonstrate the ability to work independently, act decisively, exhibit excellent organizational capabilities, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Experience: Prefer experience in the following knowledge and skills areas:
- Production and Processing - Basic knowledge of machinery commonly found in manufacturing settings.
- Operations Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Operation and Control – Experience in cleaning, sanitation, and handling cleaning chemicals, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Education: High school degree or GED preferred. The ability to communicate in English, Spanish, and Creole a plus.
Working Conditions: Full-Time position requiring work on the production floor. Candidate must be able to:
- Work evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Lift 50-pounds unassisted, and greater than 50-pounds with assistance.
- Kneel, squat, climb ladders, reach overhead, and push/pull materials.
- Stand, walk, and perform laborious work for extended periods of time.
- Work in wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather related).
