Hourly range from $19.00 - $22.00 based on experience
Mountain Lake Academy is an experiential-based program that works with students in grades 7-12 at a year-round boarding school located in the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Mountain Lake Academy provides a variety of experiential-based programming for boys in grades 7-12. These experiences include hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing, snowshoeing, multi-day expeditions, and vocational programming.
What to expect:
As a Facilities Cleaner, you will perform tasks such as cleaning, repairs, painting, minor renovations, and related duties. Monitor maintenance/cleaning logs and ensure work is completed in a timely manner to maintain safety and a positive general appearance. Monitor, identify, and correct safety issues in accordance with established protocol and in compliance with OSHA & OCFS regulations. Follow established protocol for incident reporting, documentation, and use of agency resources. Support the mission, goals, and values of MLA and role model appropriate behavior for students and staff.
Ideal for an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills. Experience in maintenance, repairs, and knowledge of OSHA & OCFS regulations are required.
Your skills & experience:
- Perform cleaning, repairs, painting, and minor renovations
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of maintenance/cleaning tasks
- Identify and correct safety issues in compliance with regulations
- Effective communication with staff and students
- Proactive in ensuring current training, medical physical, licensure, and certifications
- Adherence to all program policies and procedures
What you'll need:
- Minimum High School or GED Diploma, Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance, repairs, and related duties
- Knowledge of OSHA & OCFS regulations, preferred.
- Strong physical ability to perform essential tasks
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow protocols and guidelines effectively
- Valid New York State driver’s license
- Background check compliant with the New York State Justice Center and OCFS regulations
