INSERT JOB SUMMARY HEREEssential Functions
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines. Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds. Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
_ Carpeted Areas_
Empty waste baskets and replace liners. Dust/clean tops of office furniture. Vacuum al carpeting. Spot clean soiled areas on carpets as needed. Clean glass on lobby door. Sweep and mop tile areas.
_ Lunchroom/Break Areas_
Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed. Wipe/clean all table tops and chairs. Wipe/clean vending machines and appliances. Clean sink and counter areas. Sweep and mop tile floors.
_ Conference Rooms and Office Spaces_
Replace chair socks as needed Place cushions two a piece at the small tables on the stage Keep the three plants on the left side of the stage evenly apart from each other Straighten items on I.T. table on the far left of the stage Remove the fruit and vegetable baskets from the counter. Place them in the area between the utensil stations until after the caterers leave. Wipe down printer stations. Place loose items back in their designated areas. Make fresh coffee for cafes as needed- regular and decaf Replace all missing whiteboard markets and erasers. Tidy loose items on tables. Hide cords in space provided and/or make cords neat and wrap cords around square speaker neatly . Pens should be placed in round brass baskets. Dongles and chargers should be in rectangular brass baskets. Gather random items such as left belongings, discarded beverages or paper towel rolls. Return lost items to reception lost and found. Toss beverages, bring dishes to wash and return paper towels. Wipe down the stainless-steel arms of chairs. Straighten chairs and raise to the level of the table. Fluff pillows and arrange neatly in common areas. Place chairs and bean bags neatly in designated spots. Return randomly found items to reception to be claimed as lost and found. Note items that are low in stock around the kitchen or printer stations on the whiteboard in the dishwasher room. Tidy reception and bike area. Unfold ping pong table and return to designated area.
_ Kitchen Areas_
Organize the shelves in the dishwasher room as needed. Inventory and restock candy, condiments and kegs. If a keg or appliance is broken, place an “Out of Order” sign taped to it. Make fresh coffee as needed On Wednesday’s, place plates or bowls on tables for “Wednesday snack” Empty bottle caps from freezer door openers. Remove the coffee station from the counter (tea pot, both grinders, the pour over set, the knock box, and the carafes) Put them into the dish room until after caterers leave Remove the fruit and vegetable baskets from the counter. Place them in the area between the utensil stations until after the caterers leave Fill all utensil stations to capacity, and keep clean utensils readily available Stack plates and bowls for use
_ Restrooms_
Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed. Clean and sanitize toilets, basins, and urinals. Sweep and mop floors with disinfectant. Spot clean walls, partitions and doors. Refill all restroom dispensers as needed.
_ Non-Carpeted Areas_
Empty waste baskets and replace liners as needed. Sweet and spot mop tile floors. Complete damp mop tile floors. Dust/clean cleared desks and surfaces of tables.
Periodic
Clean overhead vents - Dust blinds - Polish wood furniture. Dust high partitions and ledges - Clean interior partition glass.
Miscellaneous
Must keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly. Equipment (such as vacuums) must be properly maintained at all times.
_ Knowledge and Skills_
Knowledge of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities very helpful. Must have good listening and verbal communication skills. Some positions require the ability to speak/understand English. Must maintain a neat appearance. A uniform is required at some worksites. Must attend periodic training and safety meetings. Must be able to understand and anticipate the needs of the clients. Must be punctual.
_ Education and Work Experience_
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. 6 months of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired.
_ Work Environment_
Small-to-large office environment. Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks. Fast paced work environment. Safety class performed by Flagship. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products and noise.
_ Requirements_
Clean driver’s license.
