Position Summary
Dishwashers will wash all plates, pots, and utensils ensuring they are clean to standard in a timely manner. Make sure the trash cans are empty and trash area meets standards of cleaning. Dishwashers also are tasked with other detailed cleaning and food prep projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Wash all wares including pots, plans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dish machines.
- Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
- May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
- Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
- Receive food and dishwashing supplies, equipment, and utensils and store in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Clean and sanitize workstation area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed and provide cooks with needed items.
- Promptly inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items
- Stir and strain soups and sauces.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines while handling equipment, performing tasks, and work safely in the kitchen area/coolers.
- Complete opening and closing checklists and assist others in opening and closing the kitchen.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure support to guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Performing other work-related duties as needed and as assigned – Including working the line, doing prep, and executing quality control
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Prior experience in related food service positions is required
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including using appropriate judgment to complete tasks
- Ability to work in high-stress environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees are regularly exposed to kitchen equipment (e.g., oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives).
