Scope of the Job
Works to ensure offices and other specified areas of assigned responsibility are kept in a clean and in orderly condition.
Essential Functions
- Ensures that the area is properly cleaned and sanitized, the cleaner should pull all trash and ensure proper disposal of the trash. Removes waste from assigned areas as per schedule.
- He/she must ensure that the area is dust-free (this includes everything above and below shoulder level); Dusts freestanding furniture as assigned.
- Frequently touched areas (such as door knobs, light switches, telephone, T.V. remote, window seals, furniture -arm rests, faucet fixtures, etc.) should be sanitized by using a cloth/wipe that has been dampened with an approved disinfectant.
- Vacuums, dust mops and/or wet mops assigned areas of responsibility, including offices, public waiting sections, hallways and elevators. The floors should be swept and mopped. Wet floor signs must be used when mopping floors.
- The bathrooms should be thoroughly cleaned using an approved disinfectant. The bathroom floor should be swept and mopped every day. Note: Cleaning rags/wipes must be dampened with an approved disinfectant.
- The sink and fixtures should be cleaned and sanitized, ensuring that all residue is removed from the sink. Wipe mirror(s) with window cleaner, ensuring that there are no streaks left on the glass. If applicable, showers should be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Thoroughly cleans, sanitizes and maintains restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors according to established schedule. The inside of the toilet should be scrubbed using the toilet bowl brush. Using a different rag, the outside toilet should be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Ensure that paper towel, toilet paper, and soap dispensers are filled. Replenishes restroom supplies, towels, tissue and soap as necessary.
- Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all clinic exam rooms. Disposes of all bio-medical waste material & soiled linen as required.
- Maintains cleaning equipment. Maintain current knowledge of department cleaning standards. Responds to calls to clean spills or other housekeeping needs.
Secondary Functions
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Must be capable of dealing with periodic cyclical workload pressures and levels of responsibility.
Required to make independent judgments without supervision. Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria.
Must have the adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
Requires the ability to work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Skills
Effectively communicate by telephone, or in person.
Ability to read, understand and respond to verbal and written instructions.
Ability to maintain cleanliness in a clinic and/or office setting by following directions and instructions.
Experience
1 year prior experience required
Education and Certifications
High School Diploma from accredited institution, or G.E.D. required

Pay: $18.00 per hour
