The responsibilities of a housekeeping supervisor include the following:
1. Cleaning: Ensure all rooms and common areas are cleaned and maintained to high standards. This may include cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry.
2. Inspections: Inspect guest rooms, common areas, and facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
3. Staff management: Assign tasks to housekeeping team members, schedule shifts, and arrange for replacements in cases of absence. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
4. Training: Develop and implement training programs to ensure high-quality service. This may include training on cleaning and maintenance methods, organizational layout, and guidelines for using supplies and equipment.
5. Safety and sanitation: Ensure that all safety and sanitary regulations are followed.
6. Inventory management: Manage inventories of cleaning supplies, linens, and room essentials. This may include ordering cleaning products and replenishing stocks.
7. Guest requests: Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
8. Administrative duties: Participate in large cleaning projects as required. This may also include printing morning and closing reports, assigning rooms to be cleaned, and distributing and collecting master keys.
