Janitor- Floor Technician
Summary
As a floor technician, your main job is to keep different types of flooring clean and well-maintained. To clean assigned area to an acceptable level of quality. Have a working knowledge of janitorial terms.
Floor care, such as: dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and scrubbing, and carpet spot cleaning.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Maintain a safe and clean environment.
2. Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:
- Repair or refinish damaged or worn-out floor surfaces.
- Remove old flooring and prepare surfaces for new flooring.
- Install new floor materials.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure correct installation.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of various areas within an establishment.
- Operate cleaning equipment, conduct minor repairs, and perform inventory checks
- Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
- Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
- Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
- Measuring chemicals correctly.
- Operating chemical dispensing units.
- Labeling chemicals correctly.
- Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
- Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor.
3. All other duties as agreed upon with the Program Coordinator.
4. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards and ensure safety training throughout areas and maintain same to meet CARF, OSHA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.

High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred
Ability to read or identify names of chemicals on containers.
Experience Requirements
Experience with proper use of chemicals and equipment.
Floor maintenance experience preferred.
