A professional working in this position is responsible for handling the housekeeping staff and helps them in the cleaning and maintenance of the environment and ambience for the hotel.
To perform the assistant head housekeeper responsibilities efficiently, you need to possess excellent organizational and leadership skills along with an understanding of housekeeping requirements of different organizations.
Responsibilities:
As Assistant Head Housekeeper you will be supporting the Head Housekeeper with training, motivating and developing the housekeeping team. You are also responsible for ensuring all required tasks mare managed on the Head housekeeper's day off This role is offered on a fulltime basis working 5 days or more a week to include weekends and holidays. You will need to be hands on, being able to step in to ensure all bedrooms are available for guests and future bookings.
You must be able to work with chemical and electronic equipment on a routine basis.
You need to be communicative and cooperative with the staff and have an understanding on how to deal with and work with other personality types.
The assistant head housekeeper reports to the head housekeeper, the assistant manager, and general manager
Must be able to carry out routine inspections of all housekeeping areas and report any issues back to the Head Housekeeper.
You must be a strong Housekeeper with the ability to do several rooms and help out your team when finished with your own daily tasks.
Must set and maintain the proper example of a housekeeping employee by being on time, properly completing tasks/ rooms in a timely manner, not calling into work and missing days, and doing what it takes to be available at all times and report to work for any issues that may arise, especially when busy.
Must work with the head housekeeper to take on the tasks/ rooms any time staff doesn't come in to work or is sick.
Must be experienced with supervisory experience to lead the team to thoroughly clean and maintain the high standards that this establishment sets.
Responsible for maintaining a positive work environment by motivating and encouraging all team members to succeed by helping them achieve a sense of pride in completing their tasks by using positive motivation skills.
Work with Head Houskeeper to schedule the daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
The assistant head housekeeper plans and schedules the different tasks of cleaning and maintenance. If a housekeeping staff finds it difficult to clean or maintain a particular area, then the assistant head housekeeper instructs and helps in cleaning.
Assigns specific tasks to different housekeeping staff for different areas of the hotel on a weekly or monthly basis and can assign specific tasks to different members according to their competency.
The assistant must know how to maintain inventories such as chemicals, detergents, pesticides, room fresheners, vacuum cleaners, mops, etc. Must report to head housekeeper and provide the information needed to properly remain stocked at all times.
The assistant must know how to use the different cleaning materials and in what quantity. With the knowledge of how to properly do laundry and train the laundry staff as to stain removal and proper linen and terry care.
Recruitment and training of staff and supervising their work.
Must know how to identify different learning styles for proper recruitment and training.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
