The following vacancy exists in the Operations Department. Bids are being accepted from current school district employees who meet the selection criteria. POOL CLASS 3
MONDAY – FRIDAY
HOURS: 3:30PM-12MIDNIGHT
The Operations Pool Class 3 position performs the daily custodial duties in a school/facility.
Essential Functions: Knowledge of boiler systems and related equipment; ability and willingness to operate all District equipment; working knowledge and skill in operating a personal computer and using Microsoft office products; effective communication skills, ability to use good judgment, ability to promote spirit of cooperation with others and regular attendance.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired:
Custodial experience in an elementary and or secondary educational facility.
Bidders are subject to the following criteria:
No formal discipline on record one year prior to the posted closing date of the position.
No more than 10 sick leave days used one year prior of the posted closing date of the position. All FMLA and Worker's Comp leave (paid or unpaid) will be taken off the record.
Composite rating of "Meets" on most recent performance evaluation. If there is no evaluation on file, the default rating is "Meets".
Must not have any "no call/no show" incidents or unauthorized leave during the past 12 months from the posting date of the position
Must be in active paid status since the beginning of the posting

TITLE: Operations Pool, Class 3

REPORTS TO: Operations Chief, Custodial Specialist; Building Administrator

STATUS: Non-Exempt
FT/PT: 8 hrs/260 days
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Perform custodial work in assigned buildings. Responsibilities may include sweeping and mopping floors; emptying garbage; cleaning classrooms, restrooms and hallways, and securing the building. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the operations department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Sweep, dust, arrange furniture, empty wastebaskets, and pencil sharpeners.
- Clean chalkboards/whiteboards and erasers.
- Wash walls, woodwork and windows.
- Wax and polish floors.
- Perform all cleaning tasks to properly maintain clean and neat facilities.
- Adhere to all district policies and department rules.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Diploma, HiSET or GED
- Knowledge of good housecleaning practices and procedures
- Effective communication skills
- Working knowledge and proficient in the use of a computer
- Ability to use good judgment

Desired:
- Obtain a 2nd Class Fireman’s License within one year of employment
