Position Overview:
This role supports the operations department by executing janitorial tasks. The primary objectives are to ensure efficient and timely building cleaning, maintaining an appealing, hygienic, and safe environment. We seek a candidate with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and meticulous attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Dusting desks, chairs, counters, blinds, and furniture.
- Cleaning the lobby, reception, or other designated areas as directed by the supervisor.
- Vacuuming and spot cleaning to maintain cleanliness.
- Refilling supplies and dispensers as needed.
- Emptying wastebaskets and recycling bins regularly.
- Spot mopping floors as required.
- Wiping down tables and chairs for a neat appearance.
- Assisting janitorial staff with special projects or tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Utilizing appropriate methods, equipment, and chemicals in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Attendance and punctuality are crucial as the role involves direct interaction.
- Adhering to company health and safety regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.
- Following all established company policies, protocols, and guidelines.
- Basic understanding of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products, and equipment is preferred.
- High school diploma/GED required OR equivalent work experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety data sheets (SDS), operating instructions, and manuals.
- Proficiency in following written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
- Capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to team goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and colleagues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Must have at least 70% comprehension in English communication.
Physical Requirements:
- Consistent attendance and physical presence at the job are mandatory.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume, detail-oriented environment.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing of heavy objects or materials may be required (up to 40% of the time).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
- Extensive use of hands (reaching, bending, extending hands) is necessary (up to 45% of the time).
- Constant walking, standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, lifting, kneeling, etc. (up to 80% of the time).
- Ability to work in various temperature environments, both internal and external.
