The Category Manager - Janitorial Supplies will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability within the janitorial, cleaning and breakroom supplies category at FSIoffice. This role will focus on managing and growing the category by developing effective sales strategies, training the sales team, working closely with category specialists, and coordinating with Purchasing Director to manage vendor relationships to ensure a competitive product offering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, a keen understanding of market trends, and the ability to inspire and lead a sales team. This role will also involve fieldwork directly with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category sales strategies to drive growth and profitability.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Select and source a range of janitorial supplies that meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to create and execute promotional strategies and campaigns.
- Provide comprehensive training to the sales team on product knowledge, sales techniques, and category initiatives.
- Work closely with category specialists to enhance product offerings and sales strategies.
- Conduct field visits to customers to understand their needs, provide product demonstrations, and gather feedback.
- Monitor category performance and analyze key sales metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a competitive and reliable product offering.
- Work closely with marketing to develop materials that support sales initiatives.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging products, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular feedback and support to the sales team to enhance performance and achieve targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, category management, or a similar role, within the janitorial or related industry.
- Strong sales, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with sales software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Willingness to travel throughout the Carolinas for fieldwork and customer visits.
