Piper Shores is Maine’s premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care for our residents with a person-centered approach to care. This role is a key member of the Environmental Services team, providing leadership and role modeling to others, by demonstrating quality in their work, and by ensuring that resident needs within the department are met.
Responsibilities:
- Performs project work and floor care and carpet care duties throughout the facility as assigned. Is assigned the keys to facilitate the availability of project equipment and to be able to open apartments for the housekeepers as necessary.
- Performs general housekeeping duties in apartments, cottages, common areas, assisted living and the health center, such as: vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting cleared flat surfaces.
- Directs and leads staff during deep cleans to ensure proper cleaning protocols and work is divided fairly and equitably.
- Practices safe work habits to prevent injury to self and others.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in housekeeping preferred
- Warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors
- Ability to stand and move for extended period of time, ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently required.
