La Quinta Inn & Suites has an immediate opening for Housekeepers/Room Attendants with Hotel experience. This is a part time position. The Housekeeper/Room Attendant cleans and restocks guestrooms and related areas safely and efficiently while complying with hotel policies, procedures, and standards of cleanliness
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Service - Responsible for helping to achieve ongoing guest satisfaction by maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and corridors of the hotel. Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, etc. Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure guest satisfaction and impress guests with quality and timely service in a friendly and efficient manner, and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction. Delivers cribs, rollaway beds, extra linen or other special guest requests items to guest rooms. Responds promptly to customer needs, requests for service and assistance. Respond to special requests from guests
- Quality- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality. Maintains cleanliness of storage and laundry rooms. Rotates linen and replenishes storeroom supplies. Spot cleans walls, carpets, light fixtures, etc. Responsible for reporting room discrepancies and maintenance problems to the supervisor
- Replace room amenities, literature and other items as directed by supervisor and prescribed by brand standards. Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents. Assists with preventative cleaning programs as assigned. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis in uniform with name tag. Be well versed and informed regarding hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate. Maintains cleanliness of storage and laundry rooms. Adheres to basic hygiene, presentability, attire/uniform, and professional conduct at all times. Is able to meet the demands of the industry with regard to working holidays and weekends. Initiative – Volunteers readily. Asks for and offers help when needed. Check with supervisor upon completion of room assignments before leaving for the day.
- Quantity- Meets productivity standards and completes task/work within a timely manner and within approved turnaround time (TAT) for each task

- Compliance– Adheres to hotel policies & organization’s core values at all times. Report all lost and found articles and maintenance issues to supervisor. Reports all “Do not Disturbs” and “Refuse Services” to supervisor. Completes mandatory trainings in a timely manner
Your day-to-day Job Duties:
As the Housekeeping Room Attendant, you will be responsible to clean guest rooms and/or suites in a timely and thorough manner to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- Assists with the transportation of soiled linen containers and clean linen carts. Removes trash and dirty linen from room attendant carts.
- Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending, and stooping.
- Strip and make beds, change bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a max of 40 lbs. May include cleaning of kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc. Notify supervisor when service is complete so rooms may be sold or occupied. Report any room unable to be serviced to supervisor according to established procedures. Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
- Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
- Push and pull vacuum and/or mop throughout the entire room.
- Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guestrooms.
- Stock housekeeping cart, push to assigned rooms; visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and sign off on completion of room; perform a quality check of television, telephone, heating/air conditioning, lighting, and promptly report any damage to maintenance/engineering.
- Properly store carts & unused supplies at the end of the shift.
- Stocks housekeeping carts with supplies for next day
- Cleans furniture, elevators, glass, planters, etc. in public areas such as lobby, pool and public restrooms
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space
- Picks up trash from parking lot and outdoor areas
- Tends laundering machines to clean articles such as rags, wiping cloth, towels, sheets and other linen
- Assists with various housekeeping and maintenance duties
- Assists with shuttle service if required
- Delivers cribs, rollaway beds, extra linen or other special guest requests items to guest rooms
- Assists cleaning snow and debris from sidewalk if required
- Assists with the transportation of soiled linen containers and clean linen carts
- Removes trash and dirty linen from room attendant carts
- Rotates linen and replenishes storeroom supplies
- Spot cleans walls, carpets, light fixtures, etc.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. One-year previous housekeeping experience is a plus Must have valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving history subject to company approval. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Some housekeeping experience and ability to speak English preferred.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and or pulling approximately 200 pounds
Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling.
Other: Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.
Basic reading, writing, and math abilities are utilized often when reading room assignments, completing checklists, replacing room linens and amenities. Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures. May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects. May assist with other duties as assigned. May have turndown duties.
