To handle and process laundry using proper policies and procedures.
1. Label laundry per the facility procedures.
2. Numbers and dates incoming resident lifting equipment slings and restraints.
3. Sorts, washes, dry, folds and handles laundry using proper procedures.
4. Rinses soiled linen before washing if needed.
5. Eliminates crossing of soiled and clean linen.
6. Loads washers and dryers at proper weight.
7. Stocks linen areas per guidelines.
8. Maintains a clean work and storage area.
9. Picks up and delivers linens to units per schedule.
10. Labels all compounds and chemicals properly and stores them in locked storage areas.
11. Follows user directions for all compounds and chemicals.
12. Uses proper body mechanics.
13. Follows proper infection control practices.
14. Follows procedure for disposal of worn or obsolete equipment.
15. Observes for resident safety when in resident care areas.
16. Maintains fire aisles when picking up and delivering laundry.
17. Adheres to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.
Receives supervision from Laundry Supervisor.
- No convictions for abuse, neglect, or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property.
- Prompt and regular attendance.
- Ability to read, write and make simple calculations and follow oral and written directions.
- Knowledge of principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling laundry and equipment
