HOUSE CUSTODIAN Job description
The House Custodian position is a key part of the overall success of the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson. This person keeps the hotel at our very high standards of condition that our guest’s demand. It is very important that the individual possesses a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, an ability to pay close attention to details, an ability to multitask efficiently. The successful candidate is dependable and should be able to work well with others, while demonstrating an ability to work unsupervised.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
Other duties as required Qualifications:
- Previous custodian or similar experience preferred
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment
- Ability to work any shift, including weekends, evenings and holidays
MAINTENANCE Job description
We are looking for a Part -Time Hotel Maintenance Technician to take care of our hotel’s infrastructure.
In this role, you should be organized and proactive. Familiarity with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems is essential. If you’re also committed to meeting health and safety standards, we’d like to meet you.
Your goal will be to ensure our hotel premises are safe and functional for guests and employees alike.
Responsibilities
- Inspect hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards
- Arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies and facilities (e.g. kitchens, fitness center and pool)
- Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests
- Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages, leaks)
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Hotel Maintenance or Equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems; hotel industry experience a plus!
- Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
