JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for providing a continuous supply of clean linens for the entire hotel. Wash, dry and fold linen, maintain an organized workspace and work effectively as a team. Assist the Housekeeping team with other duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Sort all linens and treat stains. Identify any damaged items.
- Load all laundry into a washer and add specified cleaning agents, operate washers and dryers properly.
- Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all safety precautions.
- Transfer wet, clean items and dry as directed.
- Clean dryer filters daily and maintain all equipment as trained.
- Sort and fold or hang clean dried items to hotel standards.
- Stock shelves.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry facility and equipment.
- Assist with preparing and stocking housekeeping carts.
- Sort, bag and prepare items to be picked up by outside laundry vendors and dry cleaners.
- Receive items from vendors and place them in designated places.
- Operate iron as per standard and ensure that it is shut off at the end of day.
- Keep stock organized in designated places.
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to a supervisor.
- Deliver fresh towels to pools according to the hotel’s schedule and policy.
- Notify a supervisor of any maintenance needs.
- Assist in monthly linen inventory.
- Responsible for following the laundry standard operating procedures and checklists.
- Always practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests and fellow employees.
- Clean hotel hallways, lobbies, restrooms and public areas.
- Assist with turndown service in guest rooms.
- Assist with re-filling the par stock of supplies on each floor pantry.
- Report any technical issues and maintenance needs to a supervisor immediately.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests as quickly and completely as possible following hotel procedures.
- Remain, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Ensure that the appropriate level of security for all guest belongings is achieved, aiding in creating a feeling of comfort and confidence for guests.
- Report suspicious activity to security department.
- Notify Loss Prevention immediately of found items.
- Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.
- Completes deep cleaning tasks as assigned by a supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as required.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Assist other housekeeping team members with cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, hallways, living rooms, kitchens, floor corridors.
- Clean and set-up other public areas of the hotel (pool, ballroom, offices, etc.)

- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience.

- Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Desirable:
- Previous luxury housekeeping training.
- Fluent in a secondary language.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time.
- Frequent pulling, pushing, bending, and reaching overhead.
- Able to grasp, lift and/or carry, push, pull or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures on a continuous schedule.
