We are seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our outstanding team.
Our Housekeeping Supervisors oversee, direct and assist in the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to Room Attendants and House Attendants in guest rooms and corridors. Their careful eye for detail helps to ensure our housekeeping staff maintains the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtains a list of vacant rooms, which need to be cleaned immediately and the list of prospective checkouts in order to prepare work assignments.
- Prioritizes rooms to be cleaned to meet demands of early check-ins and high occupancy dates and updates status of rooms assigned to room attendants.
- Upon completion of each inspection updates the Property Management System to reflect rooms that are vacant and clean.
- Visually inspects VIP rooms, guest rooms and corridors for cleanliness and appearance and marks the Housekeeping board to signify the room has been inspected and confirms the room attendant has marked the correct room status
- Takes requested inventories of furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies.
- Insures that both the housekeeping carts and linen closets are kept clean, neat and well stocked according to departmental guidelines.
- Conducts orientation training of new employees to explain company policies, Housekeeping work procedures, and to demonstrate the use and maintenance of equipment.
- Monitors performance of room attendants and house attendants in assigned area and reports all information to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Gives instruction, guidance and communicates effectively and exercises good judgement, while reinforcing the hotel’s high standards of quality.
- Ensures all assigned jobs are completed within the shift.
- Assists room attendants and house attendants in securing all supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their jobs as the need arises.
- Assist room attendants in cleaning rooms if necessary.
- Expedites special guest requests such as extra towels, blankets, pillows, etc.
- Responds via radio to all requests for rooms from the Front desk.
- Responsible for the coordination and tracking of special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Managers.
- Responds in a timely manner to guest requests, such as additional room amenities, towels, instructions on how to operate equipment in the room and other information as requested.
- Reports all maintenance deficiencies in guestrooms, corridors, and public areas via work order and or reporting the information to the Housekeeping Manager.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in managing employees in the Housekeeping Department. Assists in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Housekeeping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Meets legal age requirements for the position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One-year previous housekeeping supervisory experience is preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability. High school diploma is preferred.

PAY SCALE
The pay scale for this position is between $22.00 to $23.00 per hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education
