White Plains Public Schools has immediate openings for Substitute Custodial Workers.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs routine building cleaning tasks; does related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under supervision, incumbents of this class perform a wide variety of routine manual work required for the clean, safe, and optimal operation of the buildings, facilities, and grounds of the various schools; does related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)
Sweeps, mops, and waxes floors using appropriate equipment;
Washes windows;
Dusts and cleans woodwork, furniture, and other articles;
Participates in the operation and maintenance of low-pressure boilers;
Loads and unloads trucks and stock items in appropriate storage;
Replaces light bulbs and repairs switches;
Maintains building security by locking and unlocking doors and gates;
Shovels snow and sands sidewalks;
Paints cement floors and performs other routine painting tasks;
Collects and stores trash and garbage for pickup by the City;
Delivers packages and messages;
Moves and sets up furniture, supplies, and equipment;
Notifies supervisor of needed supplies and equipment for re-ordering;
Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, showers, etc.;
Performs related tasks, as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
