New England Fire Protection is a rapidly growing kitchen exhaust cleaning business and we need more members on the team! We are looking for Overnight Kitchen Cleaners to start as soon as possible. There are part-time and full-time positions available. No experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. However, previous mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pressure washing, janitorial cleaning, or kitchen exhaust hood cleaning experience is a plus. This is primarily night work on Sunday through Saturday nights with hours that vary between 8 pm – 4 am. Morning shifts are also available, depending on the schedule.

This position pays $70-$80 per job, typically scheduling at least two jobs per night. Bonuses are also available depending on performance. If you are ready to work and not afraid to get dirty, please apply!

Job duties include:

The set-up and take-down of equipment including hanging plastic sheeting, mixing chemicals, setting up ladders, wet/dry vacuums, pre-sprayers, garden hoses, and high-pressure hoses
Pre-scraping greasy buildup from affected areas of kitchen exhaust systems
Pressure washing the interior of kitchen exhaust systems (fans, ducts, and hoods)
Final clean-up in kitchens by wiping down the hoods, mopping up the floors, etc.
Digital photography of all work performed at each job
Independent completion of work projects with limited supervision
Reporting mechanical deficiencies of customer and/or company equipment to management
Maintaining the cleanliness of company tools, equipment, and vehicles each night

Qualifications:

Have a valid Driver's License with a minimum of 3 years driving experience
Have personal transportation to and from our central meeting area in Hartford, CT
Have a good driving record that passes our insurance company’s requirements
Be willing to drive a mid-size company van to and from job sites
Have a working cell phone and respond promptly to all calls from management
Have a professional appearance and attitude
Be dependable; able to show up on time, read and follow instructions
Be able to comfortably climb ladders, able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at times
Have excellent attention to detail, and be able to work quickly and efficiently
Be able to work flexible hours; nights, early mornings, and some weekends
Be able to work safely in both hot, cold, and/or inclement weather
Be able to complete work projects from start to finish with limited supervision
Be fluent in English; able to communicate well with customers and other team members
Be able to learn new procedures quickly to assist with the exhaust cleaning process
