Denstock Management seeks a full-time General Cleaner for our luxury apartment community in Ruckersville, Virginia.

The General Cleaner is responsible for ensuring that the physical cleanliness of the community meets the established standards for safety and appearance.

JOB SUMMARY

The General Cleaner is to assist with maintaining the physical cleanliness of the community. This involves ensuring a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors and staff. The General Cleaner will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner and other duties as requested by the maintenance supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts all business in accordance with company policies, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.

Consistently provide a clean, secure and safe environment for the residents, visitors, and staff.

Perform cleaning tasks to included vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom cleaning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Position requires at least 1 years’ experience in general cleaning/custodial or equivalent field.

Equipment Requirement:

Required when necessary to wear back support belt, goggles when working with specific equipment, wear masks and gloves and other PPE as tasks dictate.

Work Hours:

40 hours per week. May require some overtime. Weekends as circumstances warrant; on-call on a rotating basis for emergencies.

Equipment/Machinery/Tools:

An employee in this position must be knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of the following tools: Mop, Broom, backpack vacuum, blower, basic cleaning supplies, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant requirement to be on feet walking, climbing stairs and moving around the property.

Constant requirement to perform the following physical activities:

Bend/Stoop/Squat; Pick up tools and needed equipment

Climb Stairs; Push or Pull; Move equipment, open and close doors, etc.

Reach Above Shoulder; Stock and remove equipment, parts, etc.

Climb Ladders; Perform routine cleaning

Grasp/Grip/Turning; Handle cleaning supplies and equipment,

Lifting/Carrying (supplies, replacement parts, ladders, etc.):

· 40 lbs. – 100 lbs. (with help) Occasional need

· 25 lbs. – 40 lbs. Frequently

· 1 – 25 lbs. Constant

NOTE: Lifting and carrying of weights exceeding 40 lbs. is to be accomplished with assistance from one or more persons. Examples of heaviest items lifted include washer/dryers, refrigerators, A/C units, abandoned sofas, etc.

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment.

· Meets deadlines in a timely manner. Works as part of a team, as well, as completes assignments independently. Takes direction from supervisors. Exercises problem-solving skills. Interacts with co-workers, supervisors, guests and the public in a professional manner

DRIVING/TRAVELING REQUIREMENTS

· May need to utilize personal transportation to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors. Rotation "on call" status may occasionally require expedient travel to assigned property with short notice. Pick up and deliveries to the corporate office.

· Must have valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

· Indoors and outdoors, all conditions, often for extended periods. Occasional exposure to paint fumes, solvents, adhesives, etc. Example: Apartments during/after make-ready. Frequently in awkward and/or confining positions.

Hourly Rate: from $ 18.00 per hour
