JOB TITLE: Floor Technician
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt
REPORTS TO: Custodian Supervisor
PAY GRADE: AUX 2 Starting Minimum Pay Rate: $12.85/ per hour
DAYS/HOURS: 260/8
DEPT./SCHOOL: Maintenance

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To main floors in all schools by performing assigned duties personally or as a team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Propane certification
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures Ability to operate a buffer, wet and dry vacuum cleaners, push / automatic scrubbers, propane machine and stripping and waxing floors Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies Ability to work well with others Will be required to drive district vehicle Must meet CCISD driver guidelines Experience: One year floor maintenance experience preferred . Floor equipment will be loaded and offloaded on district vehicle(s) to move items throughout the district to accomplish their assign duties daily/nightly.All floor techs will be required to drive district trucks to be considered for this position.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Daily contact with Team Leader & Custodian supervisor, if necessary, to get assignments. Responsible for working your assigned areaes of district buildings.. Prepare list of supplies needed for floors, to include propane purchase and give to head custodian and custodial supervisor. Help set up or dissemble set ups when necessary and secure building. Report all machine repairs to Team Leader/ Custodial supervisor. Maintain all machines daily and follow specific guidelines for them.
Additional Duties: Help with custodial staff in cleaning clasrooms,bathrooms,Hallways and move furniture and equipment if needed per Custodial Supervisor.

EQUIPMENT USED: Buffer, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, shampooer, cleaning supplies, push/automatic scrubbers, propane machine, stripping brush,pads,scrapers,safety boots,safety glasses, wax bucket/stick,adapter and pad.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Page 2 of 2 Mental Demands: Reading and ability to understand verbal instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Strenuous walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying. Work inside; exposed to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials, bodily wastes and fluids; and slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Ability to work independently.and as a team
