Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in a hotel setting. Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and polishing
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
- Make beds and change linens
- Replenish supplies such as towels, toiletries, and cleaning products
- Empty trash containers and dispose of waste properly
- Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and disinfectants
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to health and safety regulations

Skills:
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality housekeeping is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Good communication skills to interact with guests in a professional manner

You MUST be dependable, reliable, and hardworking.

Housekeeping/Room Attendant essential job functions:

Cleans, prepares, and maintains a varying count of guest rooms and bathrooms daily.
Changes bed linens and bath linens per our Americas Best Value Inn standards and follows trained procedure at all times.
Vacuums the rooms, mops floors, and removes all debris.
Services bathrooms by cleaning the bathtub, shower, basin, and toilet. Washes floor and all mirror surfaces as well as emptying trash cans.
Dusts, disinfects, and polishes all hard surfaces to a quality sheen using appropriate cleaning agents. Dusts, disinfects, and cleans inside of drawers and closets.
Visually inspects under/around beds.
Ensures placement of all amenities according to the Americas Best Value Inn standards and procedures.
Replaces and restocks all items provided for guest use within each room and bathroom.
Inspects working condition of all amenities provided within each assigned guest room.
Performs regular maintenance of their assigned vacuum cleaner weekly.
Reports promptly any room defects, scuffs, and fabric damage including equipment and light bulbs to proper manager, and ensures it is correctly logged.
Passes soiled linen to our laundry department and stocks their maid cart as needed.
Ensures that all rooms are secured upon leaving the guest room.
Stocks, organizes and maintains service closets and carts according to standards and procedures before, during and after shift.
Participates in special cleaning projects as required.
Assists with laundry duties periodically including loading, unloading of machines, folding and stocking of linens.
Looks for and turns in all “lost and found” articles from guest rooms, while recording them to the “lost and found” area.
Ensures furnishings in guest rooms are placed correctly and neat in appearance/condition.
Protects the property of Americas Best Value Inn by recording any irregularities throughout the hotel, in terms of furnishings and decorative items, then reports such records to a supervisor immediately.
Calls the complete room status in to the front desk.
Inspects room upon cleaning by touch, sight, sound, and smell and ensures room is thoroughly cleaned and ready for occupancy.
Completes paperwork neatly, thoroughly, and accurately, including correct date, room number, room attendant name and signature.
Works productively and efficiently with or without supervision when performing routine tasks.
Prioritizes and meets deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Adheres to Americas Best Value Inn Dress and Grooming Standards; presenting a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance while maintaining a positive, professional image to our customers.
Develops and maintains positive working relationships with other staff.
Presents him/herself in a friendly and professional manner in all interactions with guests, co-workers and other departments.
Answers guest questions with accurate information and demonstrate a friendly and helpful personality by smiling, eye contact, initiating conversation, and engaging with others.
Speaks, reads, and writes the English language and communicates in a clear and congenial manner, with our guests, visitors, and colleagues. Listens to verbal instructions, directions, and warnings.
Reaches with hands and arms, bends, kneels, stoops, twists and flexes arms, walks up and down stairs, sits, climbs up/down ladders, or stands for up to 3-4 hours at a time. Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
Lifts up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level and can carry a distance of up to 35 feet with/ without assistance.
Maneuvers carts safely with loads up to 300 pounds, through passageways.
Sees close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
