GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB. Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner.

Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs

Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements
Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal discriminatory behavior
Supports and participates in common teamwork:
Cooperates and works together with all co-workers
Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations
Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns
Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area.
Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, furniture in an orderly fashion.
Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.
Clean spills or accidents in any areas as they occur.
Resident apartments: clean kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room.
Disinfects mattresses, dusts bed frames and nightstands.
Routinely checks cleaning list for possible changes in assignment.
Keep work areas free of hazardous conditions, spills, excess carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.
Follows all safety procedures and guidelines as outlined by facility and the Director of Environmental Services.
